Colwood House, Warninglid

I am not sure if this is a hand-tinted photograph of Colwood House, or a painting. Anyway, it is a very imposing house.
A private school, Hollingbury Court School, used to be based on the outskirts of Brighton, but their land was sold for housing development and the building was demolished. This took place in about 1962 and they moved the whole school to Colwood House.
During this period the name of Colwood House appears to have been dropped in favour of Hollingbury Court School, but in about 1982 the school closed, the house was converted into several properties, and the Colwood House name was revived.

Some of the list may be out of sequence, but I think it’s not too bad for a 79-year-old, even if I say so myself.

I was at Hollingbury Court School from 1954 to 1956 and loved it.
I remember the Masris and Robertsons and a few more - Dancy, O'Connor and Bredon (who claimed to be an extra-terrestrial!).
It was run by the Robertsons and Morgans and I have very happy memories.
