Half Moon, Warninglid

The reverse of the Half Moon business card has a map which was somewhat less than accurate as the A272 Cowfold to Bolney road is over two miles to the south. A correction has been made by hand. Furthermore, the suggestion that the pub was an inn dating back to the 1400s leads me to suggest that Brickwoods Pompey Royal premium bitter could have had a part to play. The Half Moon used to be sited at the old village post office and shop some 250 yards to the south, now known as Old Post. The 1842 Tithe Map locates the pub there, and describes the current home of the pub as a homestead. See picture #269 for the front of the card.
