Lydhurst, Warninglid

The various owners of the Lydhurst estate over the years have ensured that their presence has had a beneficial effect on Warninglid over the years. In 1925 Lady Seaforth built the village hall in memory of her father and to this day the Seaforth Hall has played a major part in village life. She died in 1933 and the house shown in these three pictures stood empty for a few years until it was bought by Mr C. Symes. The house was demolished and the present Lydhurst house was built. The picture shows the gardener standing on a step ladder whilse tending a climbing rose.
