Lych Gate, Staplefield church

The original lych gate to Staplefield church cost £51 donated by Mrs Harrington in about 1870, and restored by Mr Hermon in 1896. It was re-roofed with substantial stone slabs in 1944. Today the gate is almost hidden from view by a conifer on the left and the yew tree on the right, and the roof is almost entirely covered in moss.
