The hunt in Handcross

The hunt used to meet regularly in the Red Lion yard and the photograph shows one of the huntsmen and a young follower passing the newsagents on their way to one of the local farms. The photograph is poor quality but it is the only one in the collection showing the hunt in Handcross.

Comments:
I remember going on the hunt - I was probably about 11 or 12. We went through the village, down Chodds and into Cow Wood - very enjoyable!

I also remember going to the hunt with Ruth Tomsett. I think it was an awful day, weather-wise.
Thankfully no foxes were killed.
