Traffic on A23 at Pease Pottage

This photograph was taken by a member of the Nix family of Tilgate and described as “Traffic on Brighton Road”. Other pictures of the A23 suggest that the telegraph poles were placed on the eastern side of the road and therefore I am assuming that the camera is pointing northerly and that we are witnessing a traditional dash to the seaside on a fine weekend morning. There seems to be no traffic heading northwards and there is a considerable amount of overtaking going on far into the distance. I particularly like the two motorcycle combinations in the foreground; the second of which has no roof fixed to the sidecar. I hope the weather stays fair. Click on Large Version to view a close-up.
