The walled garden at Nymans

Standing beside the fountain in the walled garden at Nymans is gardener Jim Longhurst looking quietly pleased with himself. Wheelbarrows in those days were made to last and extremely heavy, even when empty!

Added by Barry Ray:- This is my maternal grandfather who was born in one of the terraced row of four houses next to the bridge, nicknamed the Rabbit Hutches.
In 1995 my daughter, Alison Reimer (née Ray), was working on the gardening team at Nymans and had her photograph taken within a few yards of where her great-grandfather had stood some 60 years earlier.
