Herrings Cottages, Warninglid

In the foreground are 1 and 2 Herrings Cottages, although since this picture was taken the ground floor brickwork has been painted white, and both porches have been enclosed to provide interior lobbies.
The postcard is from “Peggy” who lived at 2 Herrings Cottages and inserted the message on the face of the card for a friend in New Malden.
She did not have far to go to post the card with the old post office and stores located in the next building.

Jan and I have lived at 2 Herrings Cottages since 2007. We enjoy looking at the old pictures of the cottage, the street, and the village.
It is a shame that 1 & 2 Herrings Cottages were painted white on the lower brickwork; as unpainted brick is more easier on the eye!
