Batchelors Buildings 200th anniversary

In 2009 the residents of Batchelors Buildings decided to celebrate the 200th anniversary of their row of cottages. It is recorded that a Mr Batchelor from Redhill operated the London to Brighton stagecoaches two hundred years ago and that he commissioned the building of the cottages to accommodate the stable staff who operated from the Red Lion yard.
