Charlie Jenner and his Morgan 3-wheeler

A common sight during the latter part of the 20th century was the 3-wheeled 1927 Morgan Aero owned by Charlie Jenner and parked outside No. 3 Batchelors Buildings in Handcross High Street. In May 1989 Charlie drove the Morgan to the opening of the "Village Garage" at the Amberley Working Museum, an award-winning replica of a 1930s rural garage. There he met the president of the museum, HRH Prince Michael of Kent, and this photograph shows them discussing the finer points of the car.

Comments:
Sadly, Charlie Jenner passed away yesterday, 5th November 2017, aged 97.
Somewhat appropriately, he died on the day of the annual Veteran Car Run from London to Brighton, an event in which he regularly used to participate.

Sad news. When I was an apprentice in the 1970s my Dad used to drop me at work in Bolney, but I had to find my own way home, so before I passed my test I would hitch-hike (not uncommon back then).
One of my regular lifts was from Charlie, not unfortunately in his Morgan Aero, but in his light-blue, Mk 1 Ford.
Lovely man.
