W. Sutton, butcher of Handcross

Mr W. Sutton run the butcher’s shop at Kimberley, and, just beyond, the "Cyclist Rest” café was run by H. Leppard. See picture #451.
The houses have changed little over the years, but almost all the roadside walls have now been removed to provide parking spaces.
The signs outside the café promote R. White’s lemonade, and the sign nearest the road offers tea, bread, butter, cake, jam, and marmalade for 6d (2½ pence).
