Policeman at Old White Horse, Slaugham

PC Thomas Holden has turned up again following his success in keeping crowd control at Sir Edmund Loder’s wedding, see picture #93. Here he is outside the Old White Horse at Slaugham chatting to someone on horseback who, with the small peaked cap, is almost certainly the postman.
One notable feature is the absence of a clock on the church tower. The installation date of 1881 is inscribed on the face of the present clock which was removed from Warnham Court.
