Horse and cart at Old White Horse, Slaugham

A horse and cart laden with hay or similar crop has been reversed to the annex of the Old White Horse to park on level ground front to aft. The horse is enjoying his nosebag, but no doubt the driver will be having something more liquid.
Oh dear. What has happened to Rock Cottage on the left of the photograph? To me it looks like a hairy monster with two piercing eyes.
The landlord at this time was George King, and perhaps that is he standing in the doorway of the pub.
