Barry Ray Year: 1900 Villages: HandcrossThe Hyde house
The Hyde house overlooking the lawn. I would like to think that the timber-framed building to the left of the picture was where the croquet and tennis equipment was stored. To avoid the toll houses located to the north and south of Handcross the Hyde had two drives constructed to avoid paying the tolls no matter in which direction the carriages were travelling.
