Crowd outside the Red Lion, Handcross

The Red Lion in Handcross has attracted quite a crowd, happy to pose for the cameraman. They include 10 children, 5 soldiers, a motorcyclist, 3 adults, and a dog.
The writer of the postcard says “Dear Ma, walked to the above place tonight, Sunday. Very nice people. Am 18 miles from Brighton.” His mother lived in Peckham Rye and I suspect her son was a tourist cycling to the seaside.
