Damage to the roof of the Red Lion, Handcross

Once the fire at the Red Lion had been fully extinguished, the police sent along a cameraman to record the damage in case any criminal acts had been carried out. This photograph shows the damage to the roof as viewed from the roadside roof over towards the kitchen area.
The Large Version shows a fire engine in the Horsham Road and a police diversion in place. A Ford Transit pick up truck has arrived to remove some debris, but it seems to me that something more substantial will be needed once the renovation work starts in earnest.
