Confirmation at Slaugham church

This photograph depicts a major event in the Slaugham church calendar being a visit by the Bishop to carry out the Christian confirmation.
Beyond the 1900s version of the modern day “people carrier” there appears to stand the 6 ft 3 ins tall vicar, the Rev. A. H. Boyd, MC, OBE and I suspect that he is bidding farewell to the Bishop who has just entered the smart carriage and pair standing in front of the lych gate.
