Funeral of Philip Secretan at Slaugham church

The funeral cortège for Philip Secretan processed from Slaugham Park (see picture #574) to the church using a fine hay wagon instead of the more traditional hearse.
A more familiar use of the same wagon can be seen in picture #228.

Comments:
Philip Secretan was my great-great-grandfather.
If anyone has more information about this, I would be extremely interested to hear about it.
Thanks!

Philip and Margaret Secretan had, I believe, five children, Edward, Margaret (k/a “Daisy”), Ethel, Gladys, and Sylvia. I wonder which of these was your great-grandparent? I have been in correspondence with one of Sylvia's grandchildren who lives in Canada.
He has a lot of information on the Secretan family, and I shall be collating this with other material in my archives and make this available soon.
I have added more information on the Secretan family by use of the Large Version above.

Philip Secretan was my great-grandfather.
He had 9 children; Philip born 1869, and Douglas Liston born 1871 according to the family tree we have.
Then there was Margaret, Edward, Ethel,Norman, Gladys, Edith and Sylvia.
My grandfather was Rev. Douglas Liston and obviously Helen's great-grandfather.
I hope this helps.

I should be delighted to hear from any Secretan family members.
