Hyde country house for sale

In recent years the fine country house on the Hyde estate has been under a different ownership to the rest of the estate.
In 1995, estate agents, RH and RW Clutton, were appointed to sell the property and this article appeared in one of the local newspapers.
For those of you who missed out on snapping up this property at the time, full details of the residence are provided in the cutting.
For over sixty years, the previous occupiers of the house had been the Warren family. Col. John Raymond Warren qualified as a barrister, played sport well, particularly cricket, and served in the army, during which time he was wounded in the First World War.
He bought the Hyde estate after the war with the intention of farming it, and the house, not being required, was rented out. He was a very successful farmer and bred prize-winning Sussex cattle.
After owning the house for about two years he wed Miss Eveline Bosanquet (see picture #610), and decided to move into the house thereby displacing the tenants.
