Staplefield Post Office from the Common

The sign on the garage on the extreme left reads “Open Closed Carriages for Hire”. I wonder if this represents some sort of diversification by the post office stores operating from the next building.
The white building with the gables seen through the trees is Pear Tree Cottage with the church beyond. Unfortunately, I think, trees now largely obscure any view of the church from most areas of the common.
The Large Version shows a view of the post office with a young girl standing in the gateway.
