Armed robbery at Slaugham

This newspaper cutting records the armed robbery that took place at the post office in Slaugham with the postmistress, Mrs Ivy Wills, being bound and gagged. The sum of £58.00 was taken which would have barely covered the cost of the petrol for the Ford Cortina at today’s prices.
Fortunately, Mrs Wills was unharmed and back behind the counter the following morning.
