Handcross library closes

The library in Handcross was housed in the pavilion in the recreation ground, but was closed by West Sussex County Council causing the librarian, Mrs Nellie Hobden, to be made redundant.
This newspaper cutting records the presentation to Mrs Hobden, librarian for 40 years, by Roger Ray in the presence of Jeanne Snelling, Joan Greenfield, and Nora Ray.
