Gathering outside All Saints Church, Handcross

I can count some 48 people, mostly children, gathered in the Horsham Road, Handcross outside All Saints Church, although it would have been known as the Mission Room at that time. It is hard to guess what the occasion may be, but everyone is certainly attired in their “Sunday Best”.
The access to the building is not so easy now with the road some two metres higher due to the construction of the bridge, and steps leading down to the front door.
With today’s traffic it just would not be possible for children to gather in this manner despite the pavements now provided.
