Staplefield Road - Boots repaired

William Tulley and his wife, Elizabeth Tulley, lived in 2 Triangle Cottages, Staplefield Road and the sign tells us that he traded as a “Boot Repairer - Best Material”. I guess boots were more common than shoes then.
Bill, as he was known, was born in the parish, but, so far as I know, was not related to the other Tulley family in the village.
Elizabeth (née Heath) died in 1937, aged 76, but Bill did not pass away until 1954 at the age of 93.
The Large Version shows a close up of Bill.
The reverse of the postcard is very interesting. For details go to picture #1400.
