Gossiping in Slaugham

Not quite “over the garden wall”, but stopping for a chat by the Park gates in Slaugham are “Pippa” Sheridan (née Pritchard-Gordon) from Cedar Cottage, Rita Botting (née Ledger) from 1/2 Carpenters Arms Cottages, and Lady Isabel Dundas (née Goring) from Church View Cottage.

Seeing this photograph reminds me of my youth as I used to have a paper round covering Coos Lane and Slaugham, and then I would cycle through the white gates back to Handcross.
The paper shop was owned, I think, by the Misses Elsie and Gladys Ives.
