Vanguard accident - Rescue work

There are several grim-faced workers milling around the Vanguard bus, but an equal number of people from the nearby villages have turned out to view the scene of the greatest disaster by far to have taken place on British roads since the introduction of motorised vehicles a decade earlier.
It seems that no efforts were made to keep members of the public away from the accident scene.
