Vanguard accident - Hospital car

Mr Albert Lambourne stands beside a 1902 Vipen motor car used to transport hospital staff to the scene of the Vanguard bus accident.
Various doctors from Crawley, Cuckfield, Cowfold, and Brighton attended the scene but surely these men would have their own transport; certainly Dr. Sidney Matthews from Crawley did.
However, I read that staff nurses from the Sussex County Hospital in Brighton attended and perhaps Mr Lambourne took this contingent to Handcross.
