Vanguard accident - The Post Office

The inquest into the deaths of those who died in the Vanguard accident was held at the rear of the Red Lion in Handcross and this meant that the Post Office was extremely busy with news reporters filing their reports back to their news editors.
The faint inscription on the postcard says “Post Office & Telegraph Staff. Vanguard Enquiry, Handcross.”
The message on the reverse of the postcard ends by saying to the recipient, Miss E. V. Anscombe, in Brighton on holiday, “Puzzle – Find Dad.”
Ena Victoria Anscombe was born in 1897 and would have been 9-years-old at the time. Her parents were Arthur and Catherine Eliza Anscombe who lived on Slaugham Green.
The Large Version shows a close up of the main protagonists.
