Cosens family in the Recreation Ground

The newly-built drinking fountain in Handcross recreation ground is the location of this Cosens family snap showing my brothers, Gerald on the left, Tony on the right, and the lower half of Alan having a drink.
The Large Version shows a close up of the fountain which appears to be inscribed “GRVI – CORONATION – MAY 12th 1937”.

I have received another picture from Ron showing Gerald in the foreground, and Tony and their father, Ted, at the fountain. This clearly shows that the inscription also included "ER" a reference to his wife, Queen Elizabeth, later to be known as the Queen Mother to avoid confusion with her daughter of the same name.
My mother's way of coping with this was to refer to them as the New Queen and the Old Queen. Much more logical.
