Sir Edmund Loder's wedding

This arch is outside the Red Lion, and the staff of David Hoadley’s shop on the left have taken a few minutes off to watch the wedding festivities. The sign to the right of the shop front is advertising ports, sherries, clarets, champagne, and spirits. Clearly the residents of Handcross were of a discerning nature and favoured the best of beverages.
