Jolly Tanners overlooking Staplefield Common

The Jolly Tanners has a H-shaped television aerial, but I think that was for private viewing as it was uncommon to offer such a facility to the public in those days.
However a bench was provided for those who wanted to sit outside. The only other image of the Jolly Tanners with seating at the front can be viewed on picture #332.
The chimneystack, third from the left, has since been removed, no doubt to provide more space inside.
This photograph and the next six have been kindly supplied by Julie Churchill, who, with her late husband, Denis, ran the pub after the previous licensee, Bob White, died in 1982, until 1991.
