Sir Edmund Loder's wedding

The wedding has attracted a group consisting mainly of girls who may be dreaming that one day they can look forward to a similar wedding with decorated arches erected along the High Street. One figure, though, stands out and that is the gentleman without a hat. Of the 100 people photographed, except for shop workers with their aprons, I can only spot two persons of either gender not wearing hats. Clearly headwear was an important and necessary part of one’s everyday attire.
