St Mark's Parish Magazine

Although WWII finished in the previous year, the parish magazine for St. Mark’s church at Staplefield makes several references to the war and its aftermath.
It included the news that a Toronto newspaper had made a grant towards a children’s outing to the zoo to demonstrate its appreciation to the village for its kindness to the Canadian troops when stationed here.
The advertisements make interesting reading and many names will be familiar to those of us of a certain age.
The magazine also includes a notice of my baptism.
